Tell us about yourself!

Drawing has always been something I’ve loved and felt good at. I started learning art properly as a child with lots of academic-style training. I completed a BA in China, then went on to earn an MA in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art, which set me on the path to becoming a freelance illustrator. Since then, I’ve worked on dozens of children’s books for publishers in China and the UK. After moving to London, I began exploring new areas of illustration—editorial and commercial work, designing products, and attending local art and illustration fairs. I love that I’m still discovering my creative voice and am always excited to take on new challenges!

Describe your style in 3 words

Bright, whimsical, narrative.

Where do you work? Where is your studio? What do you love about it?

I spend most of my time working from my home office in East London. It has everything I need—digital and traditional drawing tools, my favourite books, plenty of tea, coffee, snacks, and my two adorable cats to keep me company. It’s a cozy corner where I can relax and let my creativity flow. That said, East London is full of energy, so when I need a change of scenery, I’ll grab my iPad and head to a cosy café to recharge.

What do you get up to when you aren’t illustrating or designing?

When I’m not drawing, I like to get creative with cooking and baking, often trying out new recipes—some turn out better than others! I’m also really into pop culture and love keeping up with the latest shows, movies, and books.

Most frequently played tune in the studio?

I love upbeat, rhythmic music like K-pop or jazz hip hop—it keeps my energy up and helps me focus. Lately, I’ve also been hooked on podcasts, which are perfect for when I’m colouring or finalising illustrations.
