A visit to the London Illustration Fair 2024

A day out to London’s biggest artist-led illustration event with over 80 artists offering prints, products, workshops and festivities. We caught up with some of our artists old and new!

About the fair

The London Illustration Fair is an annual, artist-led illustration, print and graphic design fair, bringing artists and buyers together in a unique environment. The Fair sets out to showcase, support and champion the biggest and best, most creative and downright inspiring Illustrators, collectives, companies, galleries, and creative start-ups making an impact in the scene today. The artists are given the creative freedom to engage, enrich and inspire their audience, sell you their goods and just generally have a good time!

This year the fair was held at a new venue, the Truman Brewery in the heart of Shoreditch. Alongside the artists stalls the event also hosts illustration workshops, talks, portfolio reviews and more. There's alot going on over the 3 day event.

We had a lovely time having look round, it was a rare opportunity to chat with illustrators from all over the country and beyond who's work we follow online. Everyone we spoke to was was really friendly and keen to chat and share their practice with visitors.

It was really great to catch up with some of the artists we work with. Lauren Morsely had travelled form Scotland and Esther of Vonik Design had travelled from the Netherlands for the event. It was also a pleasure to meet Dorothy Luo, who's work we'll be publishing in the new year.

It was great to see the event busy with lots of customers buying work! That's always a good sign at these types of events. Alongside the stalls there was lots of up take for the talks and workshops which ranged from fun to informative.

We thought the standard of the work was very high and a good mix of styles and processes. It was also contemporary with lots of younger illustrators taking part. It was a very colourful and vibrant experience and a good fit for the Truman Brewery and surrounding area. If you are an illustrator or a fan of illustration then we are sure you'd enjoy this event!

We asked Lauren how she found the experience as an exhibitor. Lauren said "Doing this market is just a wonderful experience. I love getting to meet and make friends with other creatives. The social side of markets is the part I love the most to be honest. Being self employed can be quite isolating and lonely when you spend a lot of the time working on your own. Whereas markets mean you are with a whole bunch of other folk, especially at a big market like LIF. It also helps me connect to the illustration/design scene in London, which I wouldn't have as much an opportunity to do so up from Scotland!"
